It's OGUN

The homie OGUN has been grinding for a minute and with his newest mixtape Checkmate the hustle continues. The song of the Summer for me though is "Go Long" produced by Ms. Tris Beats. This here goes HARD!! There needs to be some type of video for this out in circulation. Al Shipley also wrote a dope article on OGUN in the Big Music Issue of the City Paper.

Action Pat

Another friend of mine is featured in the City Paper's Best Of Baltimore Issue. Pat...A.k.a "Action Pat." He is a DJ and he spins oldies rare records. The harder to find the better, the more obscure the better...and thats why he's one of the best.

Bombs Over Baltimore

In the recent issue of the City Paper - Best Of Baltimore Edition the Best Male MC went to .....drumroll please.....

No Music Issue

Last week the City Paper had its annual "Big Music Issue." Which to me was a joke. There was really not much in it at all. So last week I blogged about how the advertisers are probably upset at the issue's lack of....well..music, and in this week's issue there is one letter from a advertiser and Club owner. I am sure that he isn't the only person that wrote a letter of disappointment towards that issues lack of substance. And sure I could have made the letter bigger but go get a paper...its free!

Lame Music Issue

It's Wednesday so of course I grab my City Paper...but no no no...this isn't any regular Wednesday its the Big Music Issue!!! Woohoowaitwait wait wait.....this sucks! This is the size of a regular issue. There is only one article of interest and thats by the homie Al Shipley. Where are the new artists? where is the new music? where are the CD's I should look for if I like a certain genre? who's the best MC? best rock band? who has the best live show? There were only 2 articles in the paper that I really remember...Al's and another on Bachata a style of Latin music. I really flipped through the whole paper getting to the end in disbelief. This is it?!? Really this is what they have been advertising since March?! And speaking of the ads....how about the people...the poor poor people that paid hundreds of dollars for their AD's to be in this issue knowing that people would read this issue over and over flipping thru it for at least 4 days. Not even, I barely got thru the damn thing. I'm not sure what's going on over there but I'm sure lots of people aren't happy.

America is well dressed

I get a City Paper every Wednesday...half the time its nothing really in it but nonetheless by 9am i have one. Recently i have noticed that on the back of the paper is a treat for the eyes. Its these half naked chicks in ads for American Apparel. I have no clue who's idea this was but they damn sure deserve a raise...b/c I get one from those ads. BANG!

The City That Reads

I don't think ppl understand the joy I get from knowing that its Wednesday and its gonna be a new City Paper. And I am even more happy when its black ppl in it. NOT THE MURDER INK!!! Music....Music ...Music. That aspect has been absent for awhile but the homie Al Shipley wrote a huge article featuring you guested it black ppl. Profound's (reppin that R.O.P.) mixtape was featured and Al quoted what I like to call the hottest line of the month. "The crime rate done rose since last year/and everybody sayin they got signed is still here." That line is so balla!!! Told you I was gonna fix it.
