9th is the blueprint.
I was on Okayplayer back when Little Brother was just posting songd for feedback, a bunch of us were, even the members from Tanya Morgan. We'd just post beats and songs and give each other feedback. Folks used to get mad at 9th using the same snare all the time, but it worked! Everyone was amazed what they (Little Brother) was doing with FL, CoolEditPro and a condensor mic, lol. I built my studio based on theres but still couldn't get the same quality.
Then Brother ? came along and gave them the seal of approval and they basically took off. The same songs they were posting became their debut "The Listening."
Then came JayZ, and we REALLY went nuts when he got the Destiny's Child placement.
I wish dude the best of luck though, him, LB and TM, they put in work and deserve that harvest.
Yeah that what I try to tell ppl -- that feel as though they have to use ProTools or have to buy an MPC
