Man this stuff is disgusting! The only time I've had Boston Cream Pie was when I worked at Charlestown and it was good stuff. I hate any movie that says it was based on a True story. Because what parts are true?? Who knows? Its a mystery. It could all be a lie in the end. Do dolphins exist? Yes! So is that the true part? Could be? That goes for any movie especially horror films. I just don't believe it.

Anyway the premise of these movies seem pretty dumb. Not in an it's not ok it save animals type of way, but in a people don't even help other PEOPLE out type of way. Some war vets can't even get prosthetic limbs guess I have to chalk that up to the government. But watching a dolphin get a prosthetic tail is pretty insane to me when compared to that. May sound silly and might even sound cruel in some type of way, but these seem like an insensitive movies in the current state of the American people.

In my life time nothing has went down price wise, which is pretty astounding. The price of stamps...UP. The cost of pay phones doubled and payphones are almost extinct. The price of gas is up almost 400%. I'm sure the cost of living has went up greatly but I had no idea what things cost back then so its hard to gauge that. Interestingly enough, video games have only gone up 10 dollars since the Nintendo days. Candy bars seem to be high as hell. And the thing that sparked this whole post --- Bag of chips. Crazy thing is a 25 cent bag of chips is no longer 25 cents. It's about 88 cents for the same size bag! That's a more than 300% increase with no additional product. Milk is high as hell but I'm sure the cows aren't getting paid more. Seldom in life do people get a break, so for once I'd like to see the prices of things go down. In fact the only thing that has gone down are peoples' paychecks. America needs to get back on track. Back to when it was a golden land of opportunities and freedoms. Don't get me wrong it still has wonderful things to offer but the people are suffering and I know because they told me so.

While I was out taking pictures Monday on Route 1, I ran across Ray Bly. I was on my way back in town and noticed an interesting building. Then I noticed a great "keep out" sign spray painted on a barrel across the street on the side of the road. So of course I go over there and start taking pictures, because at this point I'm used to getting kicked out of places and being told I have to leave. So around the 3rd picture I took I noticed a someone was coming out of the store and I think to myself, "here we go." This little man smoking a cigarette and donning a "Proudly Served In Vietnam" hat comes towards me and says, "are you a reporter." Of course I answer things in quite a direct way and reply, "nope." Then he goes to tell me how people dump trash and things behind his store, which is a appliance repair shop.

We then talked for about an hour (he did most of the talking and I left my lights on, which I forgot because I just stepped out to take a quit picture) about numerous subject. He told me that he runs for Congress every once in awhile. He explained to me that he has seen more death and blood in his 40 some odd years on Route 1 then in his 2 years in Vietnam. He also told me that Crazy Ray's is involved in Organized Crime.

He's views are unique, though I'm sure many other Americans feel the same way about various topics as he does. He represents a much more simple time, where Blogs, Tweets and FaceBook Status' didn't exist. He understands what tough times really are because he has seen them and lived through them. He comes from a time where people worked hard, earned their money and if they were lucky enough to own a TV watched their favorite show when they got home. A time where celebrities were famous because they were actually talented, not just because of their last name, who they were married too or some other silly stunt.

Ray Bly understands worth, pain and sacrifice. Unmoved to any emotion when I asked about the building across the street he simply said, "That was Herman's Garage, he was murdered."

Movie Review - Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol

Tom Cruise is the man. That being said this film plays out just like an episode of the now defunct show Under Covers that came on NBC for about 12 episodes. And oddly enough both are/were produced by JJ Abrams. The action was fast paced and good chase scenes. A few corny parts. Nice gadgets. But even after all of that it still seemed like the movie was missing something. Something that I still can't quite put my finger on. Maybe it was the whole "Russian Launch Codes" thing. I don't know. I'm just glad that the twist that I thought was going to happen didn't. Ving Rhames shows up at the end for nostalgic reasons I guess.

This was a good movie. It had a lot of twists and didn't seem illogical or seem to have a bunch of plot holes. The only downside of this film was the damn rap music they kept playing. Who was in charge of music for this film??!! Horrible choices. Even when the RZA does scores its not just rap music thrown in, it's actually cohesive sounds that make sense. It would be a great scene and then BOOM some awkward GangStarr song starts playing. Really? For real? Who's idea was that? And who approved it?

The rest of the film is excellent. It's pretty long though. But the performances are great and the story is very well written. Definitely a good movie just try to think good thoughts when the rap music kicks in.

Arundel Mills Casino

The construction of this very confusing, very strange building is still under way. It has already killed a construction worker earlier in the construction phase, and I foresee much more people getting killed after the construction. Last week 2 people were shot in the parking lot of Dave and Buster's at Arundel Mills. If you have ever been to Dave & Buster's you know that there are about 3-5 Anne Arundel Police Cars worth of Police outside and around this establishment. So if two people can get killed around plenty of Police imagine the depths things will turn to when the motive is money and the incidence are a lot less "isolated" ... though to me unless it was a serial criminal pretty much all incidences are isolated. People's cars are being broken into now. Imagine the crime levels as the crowds start to build and the casino gets into full swing.

In a state in which they are raising the bottle tax to supposedly help with school construction (???) when in 2010 - 11 more than almost 20 schools closed this seems to be a misappropriation of necessity over greed. And I'm sure with the casino built they will continue to plan to build hotels for people to stay in so they can stay a bit closer and gamble a bit longer even though the airport hotels are very close to that area anyway.

To say that the casino is plopped in the middle of the parking lot of the mall is a very accurate observation. Who knew it was actually going to be a mere 50 feet from the mall? The college is further away from the mall and its just across the parking lot walk way. Traffic is horrendous now and will probably be that 10 fold when it is ready for business. I think Arundel Mills will be the new mall to stay away from. Parking isn't as bad as Towson or Columbia but it will surely surpass that in no time. I'm just not so sure that this was well thought out. Seems like people and politicians were so greedy for money that they missed a few steps when thinking this through.

Only time will tell though. Hopefully things will go good and people won't get knocked over the heads for their winnings (or lack there of). Happy Hunting...bad choice of phrases.

I really just want to know what they are trying to get from all this?! David Stern should cancel the NBA and start something new. The New NBA. Best movie of 2011!!! It has everything you need in a film. Action, suspense, gore, tiny bit of romance, chase scene, mobsters. Everything. The acting is great. Ryan Gosling is becoming one of my favorite actors. His jackets are always bad ass in his movies. This movie reminds me of another great film History of Violence. The characters have a similar demeanor. It's an epic tale of when not minding your business goes wrong all b/c of what??? A woman. Of course. But still and all its a great movie! Friggen Ron Pearlman --- Hellboy aka the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. Just a great range of characters and they all play there parts excellently. And it's shot beautifully! 2 Thumbs 5 stars! GREAT!

This is a sad depressing movie about 2 people who used to be very in love. What I can appreciate about this movie is the way it was edited. It started kinda at the end of the relationship, then at the beginning and back around. They tried to give this movie an NC-17 rating for some strange reason. It was nothing in it more sexual then any other sex scene in other movies. It was well acted though. And Ryan's jacket was bad ass.

This is the movie 50 Cent lost 60 lbs for. Its been talked about for almost a year and finally is set to release within the next to weeks officially. He plays a football player that ends up getting cancer and has to make a way in his new life. As a star football player everything was given to him and when he got cancer everything was taken away. I liked that his homeboy from the beginning stayed down with him through the whole ordeal. The ending was a bit cheesy but eh it was a cool film. Ray Liotta was in it for about two scenes and the movie poster got changed from the original which was pretty terrible. Check it out.

Man the weekend was a weird time for Air Shows. 2 crashes in two days. The crash in Reno was the deadliest with 11 fatalities. The pilot was old as hell at 74. And Im not discrediting his skills its just that some 74 year olds can't even drive so operating a WWII aircraft seems a bit much. Additionally this was a super old aircraft. Unfortunate in both cases.

When cell phones first hit the scene in the early 90's they were this massive brick of telecommunication. Weighing in at about 2 to 3 pounds and with a length (including the antenna) of about a baby these things weren't sleek or in design at all but maintained functionality and people bought them because they were super rare and cool at the time. I'm not sure it met a convenience market as its size and weak signals and huge car charger you had to bring along to accompany this behemoth added 20 pounds to any real on the go person.

Then the next wave of phones hit and they were super small. They had white and white screens and an internal antenna. This was excellent for everyone. Form plus function were met in these newer models. The only concerns were people constantly losing their new smaller phones and the thought that the phones gave people brain cancer which is still pretty inconclusive.

In the early 2000's flip phones and slide phones were introduced. This left people with a lot of broken phones and cracked screens. But the phones were way better at sending and receiving information and the form fit better in the newer digital society.

Recently "smart" phones are getting bigger! They are way thinner but they are getting pretty wide. The Sprint EVO is friggen monstrous. So it seems that the more the phone is capable of doing the bigger they have become. It won't be too long until we are right back with a huge block of technology to carry around and thus the cycle will begin again.

See the thing is women love this movie so much so that they overlook the fact that Julia Roberts was a prostitute in the movie. Women look at the film as a love story between a successful business man and young girl that made poor life choices (or did she?). If America didn't act like this was one of the greatest love stories of all time then maybe this mother wouldn't have dressed her child in this costume that she believed was appropriate. Some people aren't smart enough to figure out that she was a prostitute in the film, she wasn't portraying your everyday run of the mill prostitute. So in a sense I can sorta see the mother's confusion in a moronic kinda way. This poor kid though, she doesn't even know how messed up she is gonna be in the future.

Earthquakes and Hurricanes and Power Outages OH MY!

From lasts weeks 5.8 (some say 5.9) Earthquake, to this weeks "Hurricane" (Tropical Depression" and power outages. There have been a lot of disturbances in the force. Some people's power is still out over this wimpy storm. For a Category one storm, it sure left many without Energy, and caused lots of flooding in Vermont. The masses of people that filled the markets worried about being stuck in the house (because of rain??) didn't take in account that they wouldn't have power to refrigerate the stuff they were buying. Sales of generators went up as the rain came down and days went by and thousands were and still are out of power. I'm sure glad this want a Category 2 or higher storm. The whole city might have been pitch black. But this is the beginning of Hurricane season so until October its all fair game. Be Safe

This movie started off pretty good. Wife gets locked up forever for killing her boss, her husband concocts a plan to free her and move to somewhere safe. The planning of the escape was great. Everything was going well until the Police got involved. Movies & Television always make up these "Super Police" that are brilliant and know all and find out everything. The way they even started getting the ball rolling on knowing something was ridiculous. And the movie got more far fetched from there. I had high hopes from this movie, but it just went all the way down hill. And its LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! The first hour (yeah the first hour) is cool, the second hour...complete bullshit.

Baltimore Grand Prix

The sad thing is, Sheila Dixon as much as people didn't like her for whatever their reasons were brought a lot of business to the city. The Orange, Purple and Green shuttle buses that travel through the city are a hit and people are excited about The Baltimore Grand Prix. Unfortunately she got kicked out of office before she could see these things come to life. Anyway, crews have been working for over about 8 months on the streets downtown and they are still pretty horrible. They have even fixed some streets and have repave a lot of them over.
This race is supposed to draw a huge crowd and bring in big money. The course looks a little treacherous to me but I'm just a guy. The race is in about 2 weeks, bleachers are up, guard rails are up lets see what happens.

If you want to watch this guy suffer for an hour and a half boy is this the movie for you. This is one of thee most FUCKED UP FILM ENDING EVER. The movie gets a little boring because of the pitch black screen for long periods some times. The thing is your roped into, how is he going to survive. You are intrigued by the steps that he takes knowing that he is buried somewhere in Iraq. I thought the ending to The Mist was fucked up. This is WAYYYYYY MORE FUCKED UP. I'm not really endorsing watching this movie, but the ending is just sooooooo damn FUCKED UP!

Man I kinda remember when the talks started circulating that Jay and Ye were making a CD together. It seemed to happen pretty fast from inception to completion. Then the revealed marketing plan made retailers very upset and perked the interests of other music industry. I understand the retailers who feel like they are getting slighted by the deal but you have to look at it this way. EVERYTHING IS DIGITAL NOW! I understand that the digital copy being available on a separate day interrupts sales but there are lots of ppl that still want physical copies so Best Buy/Target/Wal-Mart chill out! Evolve and move on. Jay and Kanye avoided the album being leaked probably the first high profile rap album not to be leaked in about 10 years.

No Church In The Wild --- Frank Ocean delivers a killer hook and perfect opening for the CD. Jay-Z paints a vivid picture of chaos and death then the Dream auto tunes it up for a great bridge and Seal does some wild background vocals chanting. Kanye talks about misadventures with women, love and lust. (Great)

Lift Off --- I hated this song at first. It was too much Beyonce not enough Ye & HOV. Then it grew on me. Just knowing all the elements that make that song is pretty impressive. Q-Tip/The Neptunes/Beyonce. 5 4 3 2 we need fuel. (Production Quality makes this Great)

Niggas In Paris --- This has got to be a single. The energy on the record is just crazy! Jay kills it and Ye goes crazy. "You gotta crawl before you balllll." And the sampling of Jay saying "Ball so hard" within the song itself as the line is actually in his verse. That takes care and attention. If you make music you know that's a added little sparkle that you notice and say to yourself that was a genius moment. (Ultra Great)

Otis --- I still say the version where Funk Master Flex premiered on his show is the best. But Otis is a great song that keeps the energy moving and the bravado as well. Cataloging their achievements in their verses Jay and Ye have a lot of fun on this and it shows in the video as well. Plus, nobody has ever used that Otis Redding sample in that way before. (Great)

Gotta Have It --- Neptunes and others on the beat (that SYNTH is CRAZZZY) Jay and Ye's word play on this is just immaculate. The back and forth rapping is incredible. It's short and sweet. "Planking on a Million"!!!! (Awesome)

New Day ---- RZA on the production flipping a sample that he has flipped a thousand times but this one seems the most important. Ye spits real verses about if he had a child, the things he would shield the kid away from. He touches on losing his Mother, the "George Bush Hates Black People," thing and a little Amber Rose. Jay expresses to his unborn child values and morals and apologizes in advance for the life that the child would be born into. Very deep song. (Great)

That's My Bitch --- This sounds like an OutKast song. Laroux and Connie from Sneaky Sound System on the background vox!!!!! Which is awesome. The break beat in the song is so driving and energetic. Jay questions America's icons. "Why all the pretty Icon's always all White?" He throws in Halle Berry, Selma Hayek and Penelope Cruz for a discussion of beautiful woman. (Excellent)

Welcome To The Jungle --- SWIZZ on the beat! More Social commentary. Jay and Ye go back and forth trading bars about how things are messed up and how people cope. "Where the fuck is the press? Where the Fuck is the Pres? Either they know or don't care I'm fucking depressed." DEEP!! Jay kills this! (REAL SHIT)

Who Gon Stop Me --- More social commentary mixed with bravado. Beat is CRAZY RIDICULOUS. "This is something like the Holocaust, millions of our ppl lost." Then the beat changes and Jay goes nuts! (Incredible)

Murder To Excellence --- Great Song! MORE SOCIAL COMMENTARY! This song details the countless deaths that occur in America. More so black on black crime. Kanye makes a numerical stat that states more ppl died in Chicago than US soldiers in Iraq. The crazy thing is if White people were dying/killing each other at the rate that black ppl do everything would change within a matter of 2 to 3 years. This is actually two songs Murder and Excellence. On Excellence the 2 display the greatness that can come from the people that make it out of these situations and go on to make great success. (Beyond Great)

Made In America --- This reminds me of a beat that I would make and nobody would rap to and look and me crazy. And the crazy thing is Ye has a few lines that basically say he rapped over his beats that people were supposed to buy. Thus making hits to his music that other people were supposed to have. Frank Ocean doesn't do it for me on this one. The "Sweet Baby Jesus" part is too funny! I don't know how he did this without cracking up. This might sound audibly like a misstep on the album be its a guaranteed hit and probably we be a single. Although Frank's runs (when he is singing none words) are pretty good. (HIT)

Why I Love You --- I thought Mr. Hudson was a sample. That's what I'm saying though to the attention to detail they put in this album. It really is a musical masterpiece. This is basically Jay addressing everyone that has taken shots at him from the old ROC days. Ye and Jay trade a few bars on this one too. (Put together Well)

Illest MF'er Alive --- SYNTH IS CRAZY! Kanye goes in on this. This one is all about balling out of control. Bragging on accomplishments. Nothing wrong with that! "The ROC is in the building you shoulda stayed in the house." "This is what the ending of Scarface should feel like." I agree I never liked Scarface. It was too bullshit for me. Them Indian ppl would been chopped Tony's ass up in that bathroom and the movie woulda been over. Plus the movie was too damn long and the first 40 minutes of the movie was like a documentary on immigrants. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! Plus he got shot the fuck to pieces . No Thanks! (DOPE)

H.A.M. --- This was the first indication that these two were putting out a collaborative effort. Bottom line Ye shouldn't rap fast. Jay kills this. Ye says some stuff but Jay kills it. But! The extras that Ye adds at the end are amazing. The choir!! Oh man. Just great. (Museum Quality)

Primetime --- If No I.D. isn't in your top ten for producers you suck! This is currently my favorite beat on the album. This is just a crazy. I wasn't that excited with this song at first, but it grew on me. It just has that rap from the essence feel to it. (Classic)

The Joy --- Pete Rock kills the beat. This actually sounds like something from Kanye's second album. Jay talks about growing up in Brooklyn and Ye is talking about h ow some black ppl name their kids and other black related things such as Egyptians and what have you. (Boom Bap)

To me this is definitely ALBUM OF THE YEAR. I don't even remember what else came out this year rap wise. It has as much bravado as it does social commentary. I love that no one else is rapping on the album only these two. Great! This album is about Black excellence, opulence, greatness, sorrow, over coming the odds, loss and gain. Some people love it, some people don't. Some people plain just don't get it. To me it seems like some people just don't want to like this album for whatever crazy reason they can think up. It's the only album I have been playing for a week! And that is saying a lot coming from me. And the art work is by Givenchy. High quality, high class. The bar has been raised.

Planet of The Apes (Saga)

This past weekend I saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes (I'll get to that in a second) and it made me want to check out the original 1968 version. Upon downloading the original I found that there were several sequels. I watched Planet of the Apes, Beneath The Planet of the Apes, Escape From The Planet of the Apes and Conquest of The Planet of The Apes. I still have one more to watch Battle for the Planet of the Apes. The movies alone by today's standards are pretty laughable. The costumes were pretty good and the music is cool.

Planet of the Apes --- This starts off with Charlton Heston's character Taylor navigating a ship in space preparing for hyper sleep and a return to Earth. They say that they were gone 6 months their time but 700 years our Earth Time. When they land they discover that they have actually been gone 2000 years and one of the crew mates (the woman) died in hyper sleep. Upon exploring this seemingly strange new planet ( I still don't understand why they didn't think they were on Earth. They could breath the air, the sky was blue regular clouds etc.) They run across primitive humans and then get captured by Apes on horses. Interestingly enough the black guy gets killed, and later the other guy gets his brain meat cut out. Taylor was shot in the throat in the field chase and was not able to talk for a few days. The first word he shouted was "NO," when they tried to hurt his new cave girl friend Nova. Taylor is befriended by two scientist Apes Zira and Cornelius. He is then set free and learns that he was on Earth thee whole time.

Beneath the Planet of the Apes --- In this sequel a space crew is sent out to find Taylor's group on a rescue mission of sorts. It was only two of them and the one guy died as soon as they landed. The main guys name is Brent (which is very odd for the charcters to be named Brent and Taylor in these movies it really bugged me out). Brent acts just like Taylor its like the same movie as the original for a while. Taylor gets lost in a way and Nova is just kinda roaming around on this damn horse when Brent finds her. He tells her to take him to Taylor but since she is like thee dumbest person of all time she takes him back to the Ape village. Insert Zira and Cornelius... insert rescue. Now this is where the movie takes a turn. Brent learns that under the village in the "Forbidden Zone" are the ruins of New York City. He has his moment of "what has the world I know come to" blah blah. He then follows this weird humming noise and discovers a race of Super Humans with telepathic (pathetic) powers. They are a defenseless people but they have a huge Doomsday Atomic Bomb that they pray too. (Yeah this one gets wacky) The problem with this part is that they have telepathic powers and can make you see visions but they didn't use them on the Apes??? Plus the Apes found where they were very easily and based on no information. Taylor and Brent finally meet up in a cell in the Super Humans quarters. They are made to fight each other but they manage to get out of that situation. Unfortunately Nova dies during this part I think she managed to mumble something before she died. *Shrug* So the Apes are pillaging the Super (dumb) Humans lair and the leader is about to fire off the Doomsday missile. He gets shot. Brent gets shot to hell and Taylor gets blasted too. Upon his last breath Taylor pushes the button to release the Bomb thus destroying the entire Planet. Which then becomes ironic by the way the first one ended and Taylor thinking that we (humans) ruined the planet, b/c now sir you have blown it to shit. Also the styling of the General Gorilla's uniform is used again in the 2001 remake of Planet of the Apes. And the General Gorilla says the line "Ape Shall Never Kill Ape" that is used in A Bathing Ape t-shirt designs.

Escape From The Planet of the Apes --- Zira, Cornelius and Milo escape the Planet in what seemed to be the ship that Taylor used to get there. They follow his flight pattern back and they end up in 1973. They are apprehended by the military and taken to the Zoo. There they are put through tests and the base for the Ape house keeper character in Rise of the Planet of the Apes is seen antagonizing them while in there Cages. Milo was killed by a Gorilla in the cell next to them. When they were found to be harmless and intelligent they were put in front of a hearing for press and the world to ask them questions. When questioned what happened to the original humans Zira says a virus wiped us out. After the world sees that they are harmless and intelligent they become celebrities. (this ones kinda wacky). They say they escaped the planet because the Gorillas and Orangutangs were at war. Which was a lie b/c the Humans and Gorillas were at war. They said that they saw a bright flash and that the world was destroyed. Which was the effect of Taylor pressing the button for the Doomsday Bomb. Turns out Zira is pregnant and the bad guy in this one Dr. such and such says he wants the child killed and the parents too. For fear that they will one day rule this world knowing that 2000 years in the future they come to rule the Earth. The President says that the parents should live be the child should not. Insert chase scene. Zira names the baby Milo....which is wear Bape gets Baby Milo. She throws a fake baby in the water and both of them are killed.

Conquest of the Planet of the Apes --- in this we find that Baby Milo has been saved by Ricardo Montalban and renamed Caesar. The setting is 1991. A virus kills all the worlds pet type creatures so humans use apes as the new pets, because they are so smart as they learned from Zira and Cornelius 20 years ago. The thing is humans started using the apes as slaves. Training them to be waiters, janitors and lowly workers. Caesar gets separated from Ricardo. Ricardo then gets questioned by the government about him knowing the whereabouts of the "talking ape." He passes one test then refuses to take another and jumps out of the window for some reason. Caesar left alone to fend for himself gets bought by the Governor. He is sort of befriended by the Governors assistant and is helped to be freed. Caesar puts together an army of Ape slaves to over throw the human captors thus giving you how the Planet became ruled by Apes.

Battle For the Planet of the Apes ---- DIDN'T WATCH IT YET

Rise of the Planet of the Apes --- James Franco stars as a scientist that thinks that he has discover the cure for Alzheimer's. And as with most things we test this drug on animals, Apes in specific. During a sort of show and tell session the Ape named Bright Eyes (which is what Zira called Taylor) flipped the hell out and was killed. Turns out she was just trying to protect her baby. The program is shut down and Franco takes the baby Ape named Caesar. He cares for Caesar and he becomes part of the family and grows smarter and smarter. Franco gives the drug to his father who then gets better. After learning that the human body starts to fight the drug and that his father condition worsens Franco makes another version of the drug. Caesar gets into an altercation with the neighbor and is court ordered to be placed in a Ape Shelter. After Caesar feels abandoned (Franco didn't really do a good job of acting like he wanted him when he bribed the dude to release him) he settles in and stages a revolt. He steals more of the drug from the lab and exposes the other Apes to it. Somewhere in here Caesar yells "No" as his first words to the shelter keeper guy. Somewhere in between they make sure they let you know that a Space Shuttle was launched for a deep space program, hopefully for a (good) Planet of the Apes remake. Eventually Caesar and his new friends end up in the woods of Southern California where he tells Franco that he "is home." The drug that was developed turns out to be deadly to humans thus wiping us all off the planet!

I think these movies tie in very well with the new one. I like how they took parts from each film and incorporated it in the prequel. The space exploration, time factors and virus concepts are all very interesting. The idea that the two Apes that had compassion and helped a stranded astronaut and that astronaut destroyed their Planet and then their baby basically destroyed ours is pretty fucking DEEP if you ask me. Had the President listened to the Dr. in Escape ... and killed the baby the planet would still be run by humans. Had Taylor would have died the Gorillas would have never searched the "Forbidden Zone" and the Earth as a whole would still be in existence. There are many if's and then's to this story and that's what I enjoy. I like how linear it is as well. Unlike Star Trek or Star Wars' Sagas this is just about Apes and Humans nothing more. And for films that were made from 1968 - 1973 they aren't that bad production wise.

I have never seen any of the Fast and The Furious films so maybe starting at the end wasn't a good idea. This movie was crazy over the top and did things that real cars could never ever do. BUT I'll be damned if this wasn't a hell of an entertaining movie. The fight scene between The Rock and Vin Diesel was great. All the characters were cool (not as cool as the Ocean's 11 group though). And it was just plain entertaining. If you're looking for movies that make sense this isn't for you. If you're looking for action this is definitely you're film.

I kinda hate "based on a true story" films because then I have to determine what is true and what is "based." But this was a good film. For a crack head Dickie was very functional and he had great lungs (that boy could run!). And it teaches you family doesn't always mean right. Everyone had moment of clarity scenes except the mother who seemed to never really get it. Christian Bale's performance was great. His character got caught up with drugs after his claim to fame fight with Sugar Ray Leonard. He didn't win that fight but it was his moment. He was still very much into training his brother but that crack was strong and made his decision making a bit ummm how the French say...fucked up. But I'll be damned if Mick didn't bounce back and get great when he was counted out and called a stepping stone. This is a great movie about family, personal strength and over coming great odds.

This was a good film. Company cuts Ben loses his job and lives in denial for a few months until he realizes that everything isn't going to be ok. I think the overall theme and sense of the film is excellent. It captures a current problem in America where people everyday are losing there jobs and can't find jobs. No matter how many degrees you have or experience you have, its a new climate in today's workforce. I wish Hollywood would let Ben back into their good graces, I mean geez he never pulled a "Sheen" never struggled with any addictions he just made a few bad movies that weren't even his fault. Has he not redeemed himself with last year Oscar nominated The Town and now this film? I mean Kevin Costner is in it! With a Boston accent. Golden material!

Fireworks Fail

I don't know which is more sad. The events that took place at the Harbor during the fireworks or the amount of Police dispatched downtown that still couldn't stop a 4 year old from getting shot and a 30 year old man from getting killed. Knowing that The 4th of July and Easter are the times when people become the most rowdy at the Harbor I think the Police did a horrible job at controlling the situations seeing that NO ONE IS IN CUSTODY & THEY HAVE NO LEADS & MUST RELY ON CAMERAS FOR ANSWERS. Cameras can not stop violence but a strong AWARE Police presence can. The Police were probably off harassing the homeless or questioning someone who was completely harmless while elsewhere people are getting hurt and killed and they know nothing. These guys really need to wake up. But the ultimate sad part is the Inner Harbor is this city's biggest "attraction" and now since "certain people" will feel unsafe I'm sure there will be some sort of man hunt and reassurance that everything is okay and these were isolated incidents. But everything isn't ok and 4 year getting shot in the leg is not isolated. Truly a sad state of affairs for all parties....the Police and the ignorant people that endanger others lives in their meaningless foolishness.

Transformer: Dark of the Moon

First of all whoever does the voice for Optimus Prime has thee best voice of all time! Now with that out of the way. This movie was too long and sappy for my liking. It had it's good moments but ehh the movement of the film is too up and down. Plus too many gimmick points for me. The nerve watch, the "using the girl as bait," the "human traitor" really the list can go on and on. The fight sequences are good and the actually transforming never gets old. I didn't like anything about the storyline. They should have had Sam working with the Government from the start instead of him looking for a job and a cool but unnecessary John Malkovich and Ken Jeong cameos. Where is Unicron where is Ultra Magnus? Let's get some actual good story lines and prominent characters. The Rackers and the "Twins" and all the tiny weird other Transformers that serve as robot filler are a waste.

I applaud Mr. Bay for the way he cranks these things out but at some point they should chill a year and work on the content a little more. I how come Optimus can't fight or gets killed or nearly gets killed ever movie. That cloth Megatron was wrapped in was pretty awesome though. Shockwave was kinda impressive. I still don't really get what the Decepticons were trying to do though. I thought they were trying to rebuild Cybertron but then they were bringing Cyberton to Earth. Ahhhh stop the madness. Plus it was soooooooooooo longgggggggggggg. Good grief. They probably shot the whole 4th movie while I was in there. Shia kicking the hell out of the engine was the funniest part of the film.

You are trying to find an answer to meld a broken economy. If you raise taxes you're the devil, if you don't then you're not trying hard enough. Bombing Libya was a bit uncalled for but ehhhh.... people are getting killed left and right in Darfur and other places, you tried to right a wrong. People want to fight oppression only on paper. The minute you take action you get ostracized for it. The fact is, things like the Holocaust still occur within Africa and the Middle East. Now people get sad and outraged when you mention the Holocaust and how people were treated. But brown people are getting treated that exact same way yet (almost) nobody says or does anything.

Black people were undoubtedly your biggest supporters going in and now it seems that they have all turned on you. It's pretty turncoat if you ask me...and it sometimes makes me sad that my people lack the loyalty of other races....Take that comment however you'd like. I personally know people who voted for George W. Bush and still stand behind both his terms. It is disheartening that after not even completing a full term that African Americans are turning their backs on you. Even to the point that recently rapper Lupe Fiasco called you and every other President a terrorist. While bold I think that his words are foolish. I think people would love to live in a World that was conflict free but that is not the case. War and death are inevitable. Peace is a luxury. And though both statements are unfortunate that is the reality.

I cannot say that I condone every decision that you have made as President but who can say that they condone EVERY decision they ANYONE has made?? I don't even condone every decision that I have made. People just want a soapbox. People need to complain.

Donald Trump is a joke. Naysayers still naysay. And you're still the first Black guy in the Double O (Oval Office). I salute you Mr. President. Thank You.

HOW COME NOBODY TOLD ME KEVIN BACON WAS IN THIS MOVIE!!!! I mean it's Kevin Bacon. All comic nerd inaccuracies aside this movie was good. Better than the rest of the X-Men films. They should just start over from here. Nightcrawler's pops was ruthless! The dynamic of Charles and Magneto was pretty good. Emma Frost was a cool surprise. Of course the black guy died and the Latina chick was a traitor, but besides that it is a good film. It's strange though why they choose who they do to be in the movie. Havok?? Sebastian Shaw??? Odd, all very odd.

I'm getting tired of these movies "starring" 50 Cent. He was in it for 2 scenes. The rest of the film isn't that bad though. It's about a cop taking revenge on a gang for killing his brother who wanted to get out. The end of the movie was pretty bad though. It seemed like they ran out of budget and just had to finish the film.

I Am Number 4 should have been called "When Is Timothy Olyphant Going To Die?" You knew it was coming you just didn't know when. They set it up a few times where you were like "it's about to happen," but it didn't and then when he actually did die it was kinda lame. In fact the whole film was pretty lame. This guy was supposed to be his Guardian but never told him anything i.e. how to fight, what type of power he might have....and did they ever tell us what was in the damn box? Additional how did the other kid just basically drop out of school to chase Space Monsters? Great message.

Two movies to RENT! I AM blah blah you can actually skip it's pretty dumb.

2011 NBA Champs Dallas Mavericks

They are the Champions of the World! Congrats to Dirk, Terry, Marion and Kidd! When the finals started I didn't care which team won as long as it was a good series and wasn't a sweep. It was almost a sweep in the other direction. The Miami Heat still have to feel themselves out as a Team. Which pieces make sense and which don't. They made it very far for there first year together. LeBron didn't have the eye of the tiger at all. Wade was the only one that had that spark early on but even his seem to fade. It just came down to good Basketball.

While all the announcers and "fans" were hugging the nuts of LeBron the Mavericks came out and played great. Even when the Heat lost Magic Johnson was still on the nutsack of LeBron and the Heat and it was simply unbelievable. Scottie Pippen even got out of pocket and said that LeBron was better than Mike. Jordon son!!! You gotta be kidding Scott! What is LeBron selling to these guys. He is a good player, a phenomenal player but he is not a leader. He does not yet posses the leadership qualities of a Jordan or Kobe. I think he is a good second man like Shaq. He has more talents than Shaq but he doesn't play as aggressively.

LeBron might be one of those guys that win down the line in there mid to late 30's like Garnett, Dirk and Kidd. Or like Baron Davis, Steve Nash, Allen Iverson he may never see that trophy.

I am sick of the USDA changing the damn Food Pyramid. They change it only to change it again. The thing is you can "educate" people as much as you want but that is not going to change people's eating habits. Especially when Checkers commercials keep coming on selling 2 half pound burgers for 3 bucks. It is a fast food nation so to some extent a regulation of these franchises and organizations need to be heavier. I know that crosses some type of line be it communism or any other -ism, but at this point when the obesity rate is so high a real change needs to be made. The same people that grew up with the food pyramid were the same ones that ushered in a new age of obesity, so this plate thing isn't stopping Whoppers from getting consumed.

Movie: Hangover 2

Besides making a boatload of cash in the first week of release, this movie loses its happy-go-lucky "oops" appeal. Two many lives were in danger in this one. The way the first one felt like Weekend At Bernie's on steroids this one felt like National Lampoon's Vacation slash Rush Hour. It was still good for a few laughs but it wasn't a fall out riot. Neither was the first one to me and this one was less of that. It goes under the fool me once rule, why let Alan roll with you after the havoc that he caused the first time? 2 days passed since they left the hotel and the power never came back on?? Very odd. It did have funny points though similar to the first one but just shy of being funny as the first.

You know I thought this film was gonna suck all the way. Surprisingly it only sucked a little in the way that most Marvel movies do. The movie isn't really about anything when I really think about it. It about love and a hammer. Cool fight scenes even though its only about 3 of them. It's not a bad flick at all. Hopefully a sequel will have more fights and less sap.

Thee X-Teens of the future. Foil cover made it nice. They went to bars and got drunk off of milk. That's a wild future.
FOIL COVER!!! This blew my mind when I first got it, it was just put together nicely. Great art and a great story.
I've never read this. Hawkeye is one of my favorite characters though. Bow and arrows are dope.

Day 4 --- Marvel Vs. DC

Somewhere in the mid 90's the two comic book universes crossed over and The Amalgam Universe was born (if not short lived). This epic battle put Wolverine vs. Lobo, Storm vs. Wonder Woman, The Flash vs. Quicksilver, Superman vs. the Hulk and more. With a few DC victories Marvel stood on top as the overall winner.

After the battle certain characters were merged together for some interesting combinations. Batman/Wolverine made up "Dark Claw." The X-Men and Justice League made JLX.

Comic Book Week DAY 2

Things I find funny about comic books is that they can kill off anybody for any reason and then bring then back. Somehow Colossus died and then somewhere along the line someone thought to bring him back, and without any explanation whatsoever he returned almost out of thin air and no one questioned it.

Then you have those issues that go kinda wasted even if its some sort of social message in it. Like this issue where Alpha Flight member NorthStar pretty much comes out the the closet to his sister.

This I believe is the oldest comic I have. I think it's from 1978 or so. I've never read it though. Not much of a DC fan, its just too corny.

So what happens when your body gets snatched and goes on a crazed rampage? Ask Psylocke ooooooooooor ask Wolverine as he is being held hostage. Another character killed and bought back several times.

When I was little I used to hit up Geppi's at the Harbor all the time for the newest Marvel cards and comics. Then I used to cop Ultra Fleer cards at Eastpoint Mall from this stand for 4 bucks a pack and trade 'em in middle school. Then my Pop bought me a couple whole sets of series. I don't really read them anymore (Except for DEADPOOL) or follow any of the story lines but I COLLECT!

So Here We Go!

500th issue of Spider Man -- I'm not really much of a Spider-Man reader but he comes through every now and again.

This issue Spidey contemplates quittin the game but we all know that the hustle never stops.

Just a dope Wolverine cover. However he ends up looking like Lobo.

The only Aquaman comic I have and he is fighting off a giant crab....sounds like he needs to go to the clinic to me but what do I know. Anyhow I think Entourage should have actually spun off to make this a movie even though it was a running joke in the series I think followers of the show would have thought it was cool and supported the movie.

Stop trying to be cool either you are or you aren't

Get a blood test
Get a job
Believe in something
Educate yourself and educate others without being preachy
Learn how to do something
READ
Stop blaming other people
Stop getting chicks pregnant that you really don't like cause chances are she didnt get pregnant the first time you two got together
Don't be mad that she wants to keep the baby
Get a blood test
Think before you speak because you're words and actions are usually under a microscope
Stop drinking so much
Stop smoking so much
Teach the kids how to do and be better
Stop trying to be something you're not

I am sure there are more but that should be a good start to somewhere.

This new Mortal Kombat is DOPE! It's better than Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. Story mode is far is pretty awesome. The different modes are great and the graphics are great. All the characters are here and its just a fully developed concept.

So about 2 weeks ago I plug my Ipod in my computer to charge it and when I do to disconnect it EVERYTHING IS GONE. Wiped clean! 120GBs of music gone. And its not so much the music because it's all backed up on my external hard drive. My playlists though are not saved. Those contain my beats and songs in a certain order. The order of which are very important for my OCD. You would think by now the house that Steve built would figure a way to not let this happen. There's a new Itunes download every other week updating who knows what. New Ipads cool, but let's make sure these Ipods are fully functional before all the new gadgets make way.
